If you have been on the fence about painting your home’s exterior, it is time to take the leap and reap the rewards when you hire the professional painters of TRICO PAINTING.

Whether you plan on selling now or in the future, by maintaining your home’s exterior, you boost your home’s value.

Simply put, fresh paint makes your home more attractive. It even has the power to make an old home look new.

The outside of your home is exposed to all types of weather conditions, every minute of every day. The sun’s heat, rain, dust, insects, and more can interfere with its integrity - putting everything on the inside at risk. By maintaining the exterior paint, you are gaining a layer of protection against the elements.

Any mold, mildew, rot, stains, and more will be addressed before painting commences. This not only makes your home look better, but it makes it more structurally sound, too.

Exterior painting should be considered part of the routine maintenance of your home. Besides, who doesn’t love the look of a fresh coat of paint? Exterior painting is an investment for your home that you can feel good about.

From Our Customers

We used TRICO for part of our kitchen remodel. They painted all of our cabinets (which was a lot) and had not been done in 20 years (we went from dark brown to a cool gray). They look completely refreshed and brand new. They also painted our downstairs interior, including a whole lot of trim, and everything looks great. — Christine M. / San Francisco, CA
TRICO PAINTING did a beautiful job on the interior of my home. From Sawyer… the estimator, Marco… the supervisor who kept things on track and responded to my questions, to Marcelo, the job foreman, they did a top-notch job. They go out of their way to make it a seamless process. Would not use anyone but TRICO! — Denise R. / Danville, CA

TRICO painted our interior a couple months ago, and they did a fantastic job...clean, polite and beautifully done. Marcus was super nice and very communicative. Everyone was professional and friendly, and they answered all of my questions. I wasn’t sure what to expect for the first time painting my house. I budgeted $3k for the job, and I was pleased when the estimate came in under this figure. They were very conscientious of my multiple solar lights, ring cameras, and rose bushes. Nothing was damaged. The house looks beautiful. I was very happy with the job they did. — Laura M. / Roseville, CA

Wanted to review TRICO PAINTING and the great job they did painting my home. They arrived on time, did the work as promised, dealt with all minor touch-ups before they left, and cleaned up after themselves. They went out of their way to make sure my wife and I were happy with everything. The Sherwin Williams paint they used looks great. The colors came out just like the palette swatches from the manufacturer. Highly recommend. — Tim G / Rocklin, CA

Exterior Painting FAQs

  • When is the best time for exterior painting in Roseville, California?

Exterior home painters know that weather plays a huge role in choosing the best time for painting outdoors. While year-round exterior painting is possible, spring, summer, and early fall provide some of the best opportunities.

  • How long will my job take?

That depends on what the project involves. We’ll be able to give you an estimate after we speak with you and see the home.

  • How do I choose colors?

Choosing colors can be a daunting task for most homeowners. Fortunately, there are many tools and resources available to help with this process. You may want to consider a Color Consultant to assist you with selecting colors for your home. Be sure to check their credentials. Color Consultants should be ASID Certified at the very minimum. Websites such as Houzz and Pinterest have some great color ideas that may inspire you. All paint stores have color racks and stick-and-peel samples that you can bring home to try out before choosing your final colors.

  • Do you place multiple coats of paint on exterior walls?

Each project will vary, but two coats of paint are often used on exterior walls that have been well-prepped.

  • Do you replace damaged or rotten trim or siding?

Unfortunately, we are not licensed to do carpentry work and do not replace damaged wood trim or siding. We can recommend a licensed contractor that has experience working with our customers.

  • What type of preparation can I expect?

We go above and beyond when it comes to preparing your home for painting. A quality paint job is based on quality prep. That’s why our exterior home painters go the extra mile in making sure your paint job lasts for years to come. You will receive a detailed estimate outlining all of the items that are included in our process.

Here is a list of prep items that are included in every project:

    • Pressure washing
    • All necessary caulking
    • Priming new or bare wood
    • Scraping, sanding, or wire brushing loose paint off of surfaces we are going to repaint
    • Putting / Bondo / stucco patch of damaged areas that can be patched
    • Re-nailing loose nails
    • Stucco repair / we will cracks and repair damaged stucco
    • Trench dirt at foundation and paint below trench line / backfill after completion
    • Remove and replace light fixtures

  • How do I prepare for your arrival?
    • Remove all items and PATIO furniture from outside the house.
    • Make sure your windows are closed for pressure washing.
    • Ensure all objects near the house are stored in a safe dry place.
    • Trim any bushes that are resting against the areas to be painted.
    • Make sure pets are in a safe place.
    • If you are having doors painted (front or side-access), we must be able to open the door.
  • Do I get to choose the type of paint used?
As part of our proprietary process, we use only high-end, durable paints from Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore. Your proposal will list out exactly what products we will be using on your project. If you have a particular product or manufacturer in mind, please let us know so that we can discuss pricing and availability.

  • How long does it take for exterior paint to dry?

The drying time will depend greatly on the project itself and the type of paint used. On average, most exterior house painters will agree that it takes about 8 hours or so to dry, but to be fully cured, it can take between 7 to 30 days.

  • Is there a project manager on-site during the job?

  • What can happen to a homeowner in California if one doesn't hire a licensed contractor?
    1. Without a licensed contractor, you are legally considered the “Employer” of the crew working on your property. As such, you are responsible for following all the rules of CAL/OSHA and the State of California and be financially liable for any injuries or inadequate workmanship.
    2. Should you wish to sell that property later and it cannot pass inspection, you have no recourse but to repair the poor workmanship at your own expense.
    3. Should your insurance find out you hired an unlicensed contractor, they can, and most likely will, deny financial responsibility for any repairs resulting from the unlicensed contractor.
    4. Should the repairs or injury liability be too great, your insurance could drop you.
    5. If your mortgage agency becomes aware that you no longer have insurance, you could be forced to buy insurance at a much higher cost or risk the forced sale of your property if you cannot pay the balance due on your mortgage.
    6. Should an unlicensed contractor or their employees get injured on your property, you can be sued personally. See items 3, 4, and 5.
    7. If you hire an unlicensed contractor, you are rescinding your homeowner’s rights to State help in a dispute. The state of California only represents homeowners who hire licensed contractors.
    8. Should an injury occur, the State Contractor’s Board can fine you for not hiring a licensed contractor. See items 3, 4, and 5.

Hiring a licensed contractor in the State of California does not ensure that job mishaps do not occur. However, it helps protect you, your home and your rights when you hire a licensed contractor. Things like insurance, proper training of employees, home and employee safety all cost money. Think before you “save money” by hiring an unlicensed contractor.
